Advice is given in German and English. For other languages, sworn interpreters can be brought in.

Monday–Friday 07:00–21:00. The emergency number is available 24/7.

Which documents should I bring to the consultation?
All documents relevant to your legal matter – you are welcome to send them in advance by email.
Can I send the documents in advance?
Yes. Once an appointment has been arranged, you can send all relevant documents in advance.
How long does an initial consultation take?
As a rule 30–45 minutes.
Can I be advised online or by telephone?
Yes, online consultations via Zoom are possible; telephone advice in exceptional cases.
Can I drop in without an appointment?
Please arrange an appointment in advance, as unannounced visits are often not possible.
Costs & legal expenses insurance
What does an initial consultation cost?
EUR 300.00 including 20% VAT (flat fee).
How do I pay for my initial consultation?
Online by card or PayPal, or on site in cash or by card.
How do you charge?
Depending on the agreement: hourly rate, flat fee or according to the Rechtsanwaltstarif (lawyers‘ scale of fees).
Do you work with legal expenses insurers?
Yes. The firm can submit a request for cover once you are a client. The request for cover is a separately commissioned service subject to a fee; it is not made as part of the initial consultation.
Does the insurer cover all costs?
That depends on the individual insurance contract.
Do you offer payment in instalments?
As a rule, no.

What counts as an emergency?
Arrests, being taken into police custody, Untersuchungshaft (pre-trial detention), police searches.
Can I reach someone immediately in an emergency?

Do I have to give a statement to the police?
As an accused person you do not have to give a statement and should speak to a lawyer first.
Can I see the case file?
Yes – as soon as an engagement is in place.
Family law & divorce
Do you represent clients in family law?
Yes – divorce, maintenance, Obsorge (custody), contact rights and much more.
Do I need a lawyer for a divorce?
Not strictly for a divorce by mutual consent, but strongly advisable for contested divorces.
My partner is refusing me contact with my child – what can I do?
This is a family law matter – legal support is advisable.
Medical law & medical liability
Do you also handle medical liability cases?
Yes – including patients‘ rights, treatment errors, dental negligence and much more.
The operation was botched – can I sue?
Yes, this is a typical medical liability case. HÖLLWARTH will advise you individually.
Civil law, contracts & property
Do you review contracts?
Yes, the firm reviews and drafts contracts of all kinds.
My tenant is not paying – what can I do?

Do I have to pay the ORF household levy?

Can I end the engagement?
